Grateful to be a Woman in America

A woman in America has the right to live her life as she sees fit.. When I was 13, my dad, an educator, got me aside and told me that if I wanted to go to college he would figure out a way. This was remarkable because at that time he was helping  my older brother who was in his freshman year at Hamline in St. Paul. He was willing to do all this on an educator’s salary.  It was 1965, I was in well founded public schools in North St Paul.  In 1973  I got a degree in Chemistry and Biology from St Kates.  It was paid for through partial scholarships, federal student loans , jobs on campus and yes my dad helped too. After serving in WWII he went to the University of Minnesota on the GI bill so you could say I got to college through the Gi bill too.  According to our founding fathers,  a democracy is dependent on a well educated  electorate.  Project 2025 a blueprint for the next republican administration wants to abolish the department of education and use vouchers to send our children to private schools.  These far right conservatives want a country based on the ideology of Christian Nationalism  so much for the separation of church and state.  Trump claims he doesn’t know anything about or support project 2025, however many of the authors were part of  his administration.   Its interesting that his three conservative supreme court nominees claimed they wouldn’t overturn Roe V Wade  Be Careful, vote accordingly.
